Waypoints

Waypoints (also called pins) let you mark specific locations during your track. They're included in all export formats.

Dropping a Waypoint

You can drop waypoints while tracking or while paused:

• Quick drop: Tap the Pin button to instantly mark your current location
• Named pin: Long-press the Pin button to enter a name before dropping

A notification briefly appears confirming the pin was dropped.

Automatic Waypoints

When enabled in Settings, Poreia automatically drops waypoints at key moments:

Viewing Waypoints

During an active track, tap the menu button (three lines) to see a list of all dropped pins. Each pin shows:

• Name (or coordinates for unnamed pins)
• Relative time (e.g., "5 min ago")
• Distance from your current position

Waypoints in Exports

All waypoints are included when you export your track:

• GPX: As <wpt> elements
• KML: As placemarks with pin icons
• CSV: In a separate waypoints section
• GeoJSON: As Point features in the FeatureCollection

Waypoints on Maps

In the track details view, the map preview shows waypoints as small dots along your route.
