Why These Changes?

In Low Power Mode, iOS throttles background activity including GPS updates. Rather than fight this (and drain your battery faster), Poreia:

  1. Reduces update frequency to ~100m intervals, which still captures your general path
  2. Saves after every point since updates are infrequent—this protects against data loss if iOS terminates the app
  3. Marks transitions with waypoints so you can see exactly where tracking quality changed
